Youth Arts
Ensembles: Perform at the UN, at the University, and make a
difference in global development, too. Find ways for the arts to
be a part of the change we all hope to be and experience the ins
and outs of the Big Apple with this extended package.
Large or small
ensembles invited to perform in and around the UN and take part in
some or all of the related events during the YA. Flexible
scheduling permits more concerts or a greater role in the YA

Prepare for the Youth Assembly with faculty and staff from the event itself. Get to know about the history and background of the MDGs or take your own work in the field even further. The Pre-YA seminars have brought newcomers to the MDGs ‘up to speed’ on their progress or have focused on current youth-led development in the MDG field. In either case, Pre-YA participants enter the Youth Assembly at a heightened level: younger international students have become the YA’s interns and older participants have codified their outcomes so they can present workshops at the YA that enable others to gain from their experience.
After the Pre-YA seminar, FAF includes a tour of New York City and a meeting with an NGO leader in Manhattan. This is always a very special opportunity to meet a leader in MDG success, working closely with the United Nations. This visit and tour are only available to those who take this package. |

Take advantage
of ALL the YA has to offer, including all its special events. Stay
on after the YA for a day of service and volunteerism in New York.
Working with the office of the New York City Mayor, YA delegates
get to network, combine efforts on a service project and put the
MDGs into action right after the conference. Very rewarding,
bonding, useful, and fund!
Then travel to
the beautiful Florham campus of Fairleigh Dickinson University for
a special exchange with Chinese youth in an Emerging Leaders
Global Seminar. Take the pulse of East West youth relations
regarding the MDGs and other youth leadership issues. Led by FDU
faculty, the programme includes a certificate of completion for
all participants. |
