LAND-ONLY or AIR&LAND: Travel Arrangements That Support The Conference!

September 11, 2008

Dear Colleagues,

VGIF is pleased to announce a Friendship Tour to India and Nepal in November 2009 as part of our celebration of 40 years of funding projects for women and children around the world. The tour will include visits to Delhi, Agra, Rajastan and Calcutta, as well as an optional tour to Kathmandu and Chitwan in Nepal. The tour will be highlighted by a visit to Project Five-O Calcutta, one of our earliest projects, and a conference arranged in collaboration with the Indian Federation of University Women (IFUWA) entitled “Women, Water, and Food Security.” Other visits to selected project sites in Calcutta and Delhi will be made in collaboration with IFUWA. This is a unique opportunity to foster cultural exchange and stretch out our hands to women around the globe, sharing ideas and dreams in our mission to invest in women worldwide.

To assist representatives with their travel and accommodation needs, the VGIF has partnered with one of its NGO affiliates, Friendship Ambassadors Foundation (FAF), to offer for your serious consideration flexible land and air packages (for U.S. delegates) and land-only packages for all conference participants.

In either case, your optional choice to select any of these packages includes:

  • Convenience: Book online at this site or by email at vgif@faf.org;

  • Donation to VGIF from each traveler (from commissions that otherwise go to agents or sites) – that supports our conference and our activities;

  • Networking: Enjoy the satisfaction of staying in a hotel with other members of the conference delegation;

  • Security: As an affiliate of the VGIF, FAF handles all your details and a password protected, online service is available to you for updates, 24/7; personal travel insurance is also included in packages (for US residents, only);

  • Satisfaction: Knowing you are helping to keep your organization strong;

  • Tax Deduction: For U.S. citizens and others, a minimum $200 per person tax deduction applies.

We urge you to support the VGIF by making your arrangements through this offer - the FAF staff and representatives from our Travel Subcommittee are here to help and to answer your questions.

Warm regards - we all look forward to seeing you in November!

Cordially,
Eileen Shelley Menton, President and Fay Kittelson, Executive Director
