AIR&LAND or LAND-ONLY: Travel Arrangements That Support The Conference!

February 2009

Dear Colleagues,

For the first time in its history, the 62nd Annual DPI/NGO Conference will be taking place in Mexico City, September 9-11, 2009.

To assist NGO representatives with their travel and accommodation needs, the NGO/DPI Executive Committee has invited one of its NGO affiliates, Friendship Ambassadors Foundation (FAF), to offer for your serious consideration flexible land packages with hotels near the Foreign Ministry.

Your optional choice to select any of these packages includes:

  • Convenience: Book online at this site or through the DPI NGO Planning Committee's Travel Subcommittee by email at dpingoconference@faf.org;

  • Donation to NGO/DPI Executive Committee from each traveler (from commissions that otherwise go to agents or sites) – that supports our conference and all our activities – and you will be listed as a conference donor;

  • Networking: Enjoy the satisfaction of staying nearby the conference venue in a hotel with other members of the conference delegation;

  • Security: As an affiliate of the NGO/DPI Executive Committee, FAF handles all your details and a password protected, online service is available to you for updates, 24/7, (personal travel insurance is included in some packages, too);

  • Satisfaction: Knowing you are helping to keep your organization strong;

  • Tax Deduction: For U.S. citizens and others, a minimum $250pp tax deduction applies.

As your elected representatives, the NGO/DPI Executive Committee is your official liaison to the UN Department of Public Information, that helps to plan and fund the annual conference, prepares and disseminates the NGO Reporter, financially supports the NGO Resource Center, creates Outreach Programs and Workshops, and is here every day to represent your interests. With your support our nonprofit organization keeps the voice of civil society strong at the UN.

Please note: all NGO representatives registered to attend the Conference are welcome to make their own travel arrangements. However, we urge you to support the NGO/DPI Executive Committee by making your arrangements through this offer - the FAF staff and representatives from the Travel Subcommittee are here to help and to answer your questions.

Warm regards - we all look forward to seeing you in September!

Cordially,

Jeffery Huffines
Chair, NGO/DPI Executive Committee
